Donate a Vehicle to Habitat

Did you know that the automobile is the most heavily recycled product? 94% of the metal in a car is recycled! When you donate a car to Cars for Homes™, Habitat’s car donation program, it is “recycled” to help families build homes.

By donating a car to Habitat’s Cars for Homes™ car donation program, you help your local Habitat for Humanity affiliate build houses in partnership with families in need of decent, affordable shelter.

It is quick and easy to donate cars, trucks, boats, RVs, motorcycles, construction equipment or other vehicles—running or not! Plus, when you donate your car, the automobile donation may be eligible for tax deduction purposes. (Consult the IRS or your tax adviser for details.)

Freeman Family

Home Dedication!

On June 4th the sun came out for the dedication of Don Freeman and his son Donald’s house at Meyer Estates in Thurston. Speak-ers included the Mayor of Springfield and the home’s sponsors, Eugene Celebration and its presenting sponsor the Northwest Community Credit Union with sup-port from Jerry’s Home Improvement Center.

This was the first two bed-room home built at Meyer Estates and all those who took a tour of the home complimented the Freemans on their choices for color and kitchen cabinets. But the most enthusiastic voices belonged to the Freeman’s themselves, who were short on words during the ceremony when they got their keys, but who had lots to say about their gratitude and happiness once the speeches were over and they could relax.

Daughter of Don and sister of Donald, Alie, gave the prayers for the house, and several Freeman grandchildren attended, as did volunteers, board members and new neighbors of the Freemans.
